Top Moments From My Vacation To Cartagena

I knew that South America was gorgeous, but I never could have imagined my vacation to Cartagena would leave me mesmerized! The best way to describe it is ALL LOVE!

Here are the top moments from my trip.

Our Marbella AirBnB

We stayed at the Montu for the first part of our trip. Our penthouse was huge! Spacious, cozy, comfortable with amazing panoramic views. It was so relaxing to end each day of exploring here! Plus, starting the mornings on the balcony was the best backdrop for my morning quiet time.

Our Palenque Tour

We got to explore the first free African town in the Americas, and the amount of history and culture represented here is awe-inspiring. We learned the basics of their language, how they stay healthy, and how they solve problems — as well as the renowned heroes and athletes that were birthed there. Ya girl even got a chance to get in the ring!

The Food!

The variety of food was refreshing! I had tacos, arepas, empanadas, ceviche, fried chicken, eggplant fritters, a salad made of flowers, and even Vietnamese noodles with a show! Everything was delicious, fresh, and filling without making me feel heavy or stuffed.

The Scenery!

From the water to the cobblestone, there is so much color and visual intrigue! Literally everywhere you turn there is beauty. I remember telling my best friend that we would never need to stage a photo shoot here — anywhere you turn there's a perfect backdrop!

The best of it all was watching my best friend of nearly 20 years glow on her birthday trip! Lovr you girl!

I give my Cartagena vacation a 8.9 out of 10. Of course there are nuances to every vacation that you can't expect. But I left this getaway feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and settled in the beauty of such a wonderful new experience.
